Sextant Winery

A beautiful combination of wine, food, and love for the sea. Located in both Edna Valley and Paso Robles, CA

"NAVIGATE. . . DISCOVER. . . EXPLORE

Sextant Winery happens to be the first winery I ever tasted at in San Luis Obispo county. It has a special place in my heart because it allowed me to discover my love for a great zinfandel.

Sextant Winery is one of the oldest wineries in Edna Valley. Owners, Nancy and Craig Stoller, created Sextant winery in 2004 and opened their first tasting room in Edna Valley in 2007, with their Paso Robles location following after. The name, Sextant, is a unique one for a winery. The Stollers believe their time is best spent on the ocean, as they thoroughly enjoy taking their boat out at sea. Sextant, is a navigation term used for measuring altitudes. Hence, a perfect combination for their love of wine and the sea - Sextant Winery.

Sextant Winery produces 20 different types of wine and are best known for their reds. The customer favorite and best seller? The Wheelhouse zinfandel. Their wine club members favorite reserve wine is the Kamal cabernet sauvignon.

One of my favorite reasons for always prioritizing Sextant Winery as a pitstop on the Edna Valley wine trail is not just for that delicious zin, but they are one of the only food stops on the wine trail as well. Their deli always features amazing new salads, sandwiches, and mouth watering Charcuterie boards!

They also sell lots of cute "gifties", as I like to call them. Local trinkets and wine themed home decor, perfect for any certified wine-o friend or for your own heart's desire. My favorite gift item that they sell, is their homemade candles inside recycled Sextant wine bottles. As a candle hoarder myself, these candles are nothing short of wonderful as I wish my home could smell like them all year long!

The last perk Sextant winery offers when you purchase a tasting, is taking home the classy stemless wine glass you used for your tasting! Nothing better than taking home a keepsake you can use time and time again.

My favorite wine during this tasting? Their Holystone Zinfandel. A deep red combined with Syrah and Petite Syrah, leaving hints of cherry on the tongue with a smooth finish. Definitely will leave you plotting your next visit to come back for more.
